Our term 2 premier was a fantastic Far Out Fairy tale.
Students had put together some really great little pieces this term. They had taken pieces of a classic fairytale and changed it into a modern day tale.
Check out a sneak peak of Mirror Mirror on our video page. Some great work from our Sharp shooter team.
Young Movie Maker of the year went to.....(drum roll please)......
Brianna's all round outstanding skills in ca...Read Full Post »

Last term we covered classic story telling and our students produced a couple of fantastic short movies (check them out)! Term 4 will see a totally different pace. Guerilla fim-making is a fast-paced, use what you have, kind of film-making that will see teams furiously writing, acting, filming and editing short scenario's together.
We have some special guest tutors, no strangers to fast-paced film-making (think 48hr challenge) who will be dropping in on a couple of classes to give...Read Full Post »

You may have seen some kids breaking into a car at the Rose Centre recently.....No need to worry though as this is all part of a short movie that is being filmed by our students at the moment.
However, if you do happen to see someone breaking into a car and there aren't any cameras, or film crew around, we do highly advise calling the police.

What a fantastic bunch of students we have for the start of our movie making programme.
It was great to read the story plot ideas this week, from smoking chickens to zombies to theatre heroines and more.
I can't wait to see how they all come together

Thanks to the support of local schools our programme is filling fast.
We are super duper excited about kicking this programme off and can't wait to meet all our budding young movie makers who have already enrolled.
Remember we take a maximum of 20 students to ensure that everyone gets the attention they deserve and more importantly the time they deserve with cameras and editing equipment.

Sheryl had the idea for Young Movie Makers after looking around for something of a similar nature for her own son but realised there was nothing that really hit the mark.
With her own experience in production and...Read Full Post »

Esta's experience in tv spans 10 years and includes directing childrens programmes Sticky TV and What Now. She is also involved in a number of theatre and comedy projects which see her constantly drawing on her creative talents.
Esta has a fantastic rapport with children and she is looking forward to working with our students at YMM
